Biography of Jenkin Lloyd
Jenkin Lloyd graduated MB CM from the University of Glasgow in 1881.
Jenkin Lloyd was born in 1853 in Llanddeiniol, in Wales, and was the son of Thomas Lloyd, a farmer. Jenkin Lloyd moved to Glasgow to take up a place studying Medicine in 1875; a move which was mirrored 10 years later by his younger brother James Lloyd in 1885.
While attending university, Jenkin took classes in Surgery and Clinical Medicine, winning a prize in 1880 for his ability. He graduated in 1881 with a MB CM degree.
After graduation, Jenkin returned to Wales, and began practicing in Blaenau Ffestiniog. A few years later he moved to Bethesda, as an assistant to Dr Hughes - whose niece, Miss Williams, he later married.
